Roy offered Avalanche coaching job :

My opinion on this hasn't quite gelled. What I can tell you that I am up for is a good ol' fashioned shakeup in the locker room. And maybe this is it. I no longer want to see the Quenville regime (sorry Granato, you're not doin' for me either).
The key to good coaching is to be inspirational, show confidence, motivate individuals and yes create a team that is solid through every shift. Can a net tender who is well known for a slight temper and even more individuality create a cohesive environment for the team and then help sell tickets? I think that if this happens the seats will fill to see Roy again, but the team has to perform in the end. It's not gonna be the same lines as last year and hopefully we see a more rounded team on the ice. We have been in need of a solid defense for years, and with a goaltender behind the bench, perhaps that will get the team there. Can he coach the forwards or do you just tell them to keep up the ol' dump and chase that I've grown to despise. I dunno.
This will be interesting. I predict he'll take the job. It's not a hard prediction mind you cause he wants back in the NHL and the legacy with the Avs is obvious. So, I say do it. I say it with cautious optimism.
